The pandemic occurrence leads us to abide by the new rule of wearing a mask in most public areas and, most significantly, to combat and lessen infection incidence. With that said, wearing a mask will directly affect our skin unpleasantly.
The heat and humidity during summer are still rising, and it is no secret that heat can badly affect us in distinct possibilities. The add-on facial coverings will most likely irritate the sensitive skin. The coverings can trigger and lead to mask acne and pimples by touching your face frequently. If you are wearing heavy makeup while wearing the coverings the entire day, acne will spread out rapidly in no time.

#1. You Wear Makeup.
If you are working in a place where it requires a mask the entire day, forget about wearing any makeup, especially the foundation. Not to mention wearing powder or foundation in a humid and hot environment without proper ventilation can create a tremendous amount of sweats in your face, thereby trapped inside your mask that is prone to bacteria existence.
If you have an oily type of skin, the face mask can double the irritation possibilities like mask acne. Forget about the makeup whenever you work in a factory or any less ventilated areas with your coverings. If you have sensitive skin, to begin with, it will be advisable to wash your face twice daily. If you are working in an open area prone to dust and chemical irritants on top of wearing a mask, it is always better to rewash your face during lunch break to wash off excess unpleasant particles stuck on your face with coverings. Cleaning and taking extra care of your face in a day will help prevent mask acne and pimples’ appearance.
#4. You Are Not Brushing Your Teeth Regularly.
What are the significant connections between brushing your teeth regularly to preventing mask acne breakouts from wearing a face mask? As I have mentioned earlier, wearing facial coverings for more than 10 hours or so while talking, sneezing, and sweating will formulate bacteria around the covering in your face, causing irritations. The mouth is a high source of bacteria. If you don’t practice proper hygiene like brushing your teeth regularly, there are higher chances of multiplying your face’s unnecessary breakouts while wearing a mask.
For me, it is best to brush the teeth three times a day. With that, I brush my teeth even after lunchtime because talking with a fresh breath while wearing the mask is a lot better than smelling your breath without brushing after the meal.
